What can you save (and gain) when you quit smoking?
The average cost of a pack of cigarettes is $5.31. If you used to smoke a pack a day, you save $1,900 a year by quitting! That’s a lot of money!
Each day you go smoke-free, you might put the money you used to spend on cigarettes in a special place, like a money jar or piggy bank, and watch the money grow. You can also challenge yourself to add something like $1 to the money jar for every time you overcome a craving. (Need coping ideas when those cravings come around? We’ve got an article on it too!)
Write a fun message (e.g., “You can do it!”), and put it in or near your money jar. Every time you put money in, your message will remind you of just how important you are and quitting is to you!
So what are you going to do with your newfound riches?
